Have you thought about selling her car and putting her on your insurance on a different car? That way she can borrow the car and the cost should be less. At least until she's 21.

There’s only DH in the household that drives, which is a Mercedes and is a group 30 something. He’s already said ages ago that there’s no way she’s driving that, lol.Stateofart said:Have you thought about selling her car and putting her on your insurance on a different car? I fear it may be a case of waiting it out until she can say she has had a full licence for longer or until she has a clean record again. The price will then be cheaper, even though you could say she might be a bigger risk than she is right now due to being out of practice.
Worth looking at selling the car and getting her something in a lower group - an Astra doesn’t strike me as a car with a particularly low one, though I appreciate it varies by the exact model.
If she completes a CBT she will have a full licence for a 50cc moped with no need to pass another test.0
