EBay non payers

Last week I sold five items and three haven’t paid, despite payment reminders.
what do I do now? Do I just cancel?
why do people bid if they have no intention of paying 😡😡😡
one item sold for more than I was expecting (£22). Can you still offer it to next highest bidder?

Frustrating isn't it? Some people bid on multiple items in the hope they'll win one of them and then take their pick. Others who have identical products for auction will bid to "take you out" as a competitor. In the old days you could leave negative feedback for these people or report them, not anymore.
With any winning bidder I message to congratulate them, send an invoice and say I'll dispatch within 48 hours of settlement. If at the 2 day mark they've not paid or responded I'll message again and say I'll give it 24 hours before the sale will be cancelled. If no response that's exactly what I do and relist it. For the people who mess me about with promises of payment which never happen, if they're selling something I'll enter an automatic bid on their lot with no intention of paying to give them a taste of their own medicine. As Corporal Jones says "they don't like it up 'em"!1 -

I don’t bother reminding buyers or messing about , after 4 days (to the exact hour) you can cancel the sale and you get the option of cancelling due to buyer non payment and buyer then gets a strike and you get your FVFs back. If you don’t cancel then your FVFs will remain payable so make sure you do that. I’ve even set my accounts up to do it automatically , so on day 4 eBay cancel the sale and refund my FVFs . After sale has been cancelled you can offer it out as a second chance offer.
With 2 or more non payment strikes buyers might find it difficult to buy on eBay as sellers can block buyers with 2 or more strikes in a year from bidding or buying from their auctions.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is why I only use buy now with instant payment required. It's just not worth the hassle, if someone wants your item they will pay your price.0

I think people set a maximum bid higher than they're actually willing to go just to make sure they win it. Then, if it came in at their actual budget, great! If it was higher, they at least get the chance to think it over and prevent anyone else from taking it. And if they decide they don't want it, they just go silent.
That's my theory at least.
If you're in no rush to sell, just set to Buy it Now and require immediate payment.0 -
