Returning a diswasher that does not wash or dry properly.

I would really appreciate your help and advice,
I purchased a Hisense dishwasher on the 12th of October 2023 online from Currys and it was delivered on the 16th of October.
Unfortunately, I am not happy with the performance as all the dishes remain very wet and some are not cleaned, it could be faulty. I want to return the product for a refund.
I purchased the product online and I contacted Currys on the 24th of October requesting a refund (8 days after delivery, 12 days after purchase). I have proof that I contacted Currys on the 24th requesting a refund.

I contacted Currys requesting a refund in view of distance selling rules and they said that they will only give me a refund if I get an uplift number from Hisense.
I called Hisense and they will not give me an uplift number without an engineer attending to inspect the item to decide if it is repairable.
I would like a refund and not a repair or replacement.
Can someone please advise me on where I stand and what I should do.
Thank you

You say you think it’s faulty so you should allow the Hisense engineer to visit and check. If the engineer says it’s working correctly but you still feel the cleaning/drying is unsatisfactory then you could potentially negotiate a refund on the grounds of not fit for purpose.0

You are going down the faulty route and to exercise your short term right to reject its on you to prove its faulty. Its not unreasonable for them to send an engineer to inspect the item in situ rather than you having to pay for it to be shipped off somewhere for an inspection at your expense which only becomes refundable if the report confirms its faulty.
Distance Selling Rules do not cover faulty goods, they cover returning goods because you changed your mind. Subject to a number of factors the merchant can charge you for the items return and any excessive handling if it's not in its original packaging etc.0 -
My dishwasher does not dry anywhere near as well as my old one. My old one dried well with the door remaining closed after washing, my new ones needs to have the door left open to assist drying.
I dont like it but it isn't faulty, it just does not compare well to my old one.2 -
Can I still return it based on changing my mind? I dont mind paying for shipping costs.0

On Eco our new one sits with the door partially open for 2 hours before it declares itself done. On a non-eco mode you can choose extra dry (as well as other things) and it only opens the door for the last 20 minutes or so but power and water consumption is more than double.0 -
When we moved into our house on 2006 we inherited an old dishwasher.
We had to leave the door open to allow the dishes to dry off.
We also found some dish washing tablets gave better results than others.0 -
Rinse aid also helps with drying as it causes the water to run off the items easier0

However, the OP bought it on 12 October and complained on 24th, asking for refund. So original complaint was within 14 days.0
