Switched from Plusnet to EE recently and Plusnet took their £6 as usual. I expected that with the 28/30 day notice period
so may expect a small refund on that because the billing/leaving date is not a full month.

But EE have already taken money also, do they take money on a set date no matter when the transfer happened?
Been less than a week from the switch so them taking the full amount seemed strange.

Anyone else had the same and is it correct?

Thanks.

I've literally switched from Plusnet today but to 1p mobile and not EE directly. I will keep an eye on the charges, it wasn't something I had considered foolishly!

Don't they take the money upfront from the day the contract starts which is perhaps why a refund is expected from the old company.

No, when I joined Life Mobile it was billed 30 days after taking out the 30 day rolling contract and no change when
Plusnet took over Life mobile so I expected to pay for 30 days from the PAC or porting out.

EE have taken the money less than one week in which is not an issue but just unexpected. Curious if others had
    the same happen to them?

EE, I believe, take payment for the month on a particular date in the first week or so of that month, to include any extra charges from the previous month. It seems to be that way with my long running series of contracts, they provide notice of how much they will take and when.

    Thanks.

I was checking last night and EE take payment 7 - 10 days after the start of the contract.  So it is normal.

Just need to remember that if I switch, already paid up front.

When you switch mobile provider there is usually a small overlap where you are paying for two services, as your new sim is active prior to the port taking place.  Ordinarily you will either be billed every 30 days or on the same date each calendar month depending on the terms of your contract and they may take a small payment for part of a month if they calculate your billing date as being different from your connection date (they may have asked you for your preferred payment date?)
In any case it is likely that you will be paying upfront for your allowances.

Yeah, upto now all my contracts have taken the money after 28/30 days of the contract starting. Almost always had payments for both
taken either a lower amount of the old contract or the full amount in which they later refund partially for the number of unused days.

Not an issue, just something to remember if I change contracts that they took payment one week after the start of the contract. Not
    had that happen previously.
