How many chances do they get?

OP says she has visited 7 times already.

I go to Specsavers later this week to collect my new varifocals (2nd pair are sunglasses). It can take a few visits to get the glasses correctly adjusted, 7 times is excessive though. Two years ago I had to go back to Specsavers a couple of times and then ended up with a pair of single vision as well for computer use at work. I'm hoping this time they're ok straight away, they always seem to rush you when collecting them so I'll make sure I'm as happy as I can be before leaving.

Hi Lucy Lou, I feel I have given them ample amount of chances to correct my glasses,  surely any good opticians doesn’t take 6/7 attempts, I am just going to see now what the specialists on Friday does, apparently he is more experienced, but hold on I though they were experienced 🤔 anyway let’s see what develops, I really am fed up with it all to be honest, i will stress my unhappiness with the decline in service I received again and think I will try to ask for a refund if it can’t be resolved quickly, as i purchased prescription polarised sunglasses, I really wanted both pairs done before I go away, December 17th leaving me about a month, so do I risk staying with these only for them to get it wrong again, I don’t think so, anyway let’s see
  • I was in a similar position, first eye test was nearly two months ago. The 1st set of Varifocals weren’t any good. Very blurry. The second paid were a different colour! And they’d added a £40 coating and £100+ of thinner lenses I didn’t ask for. They said I could cancel for any reason within 100 days and get a full refund. I’ve returned both pairs last week and am awaiting my refund… I find their customer service is terrible and will be going elsewhere.

Thanks for your reply Paulbnm, can I ask did you go to Vision Express?  How long does it take to get a refund?

Its a shame as I have always wanted a pair of prescription sunglasses that are polarized to stop glare, but they are definitely not right, blurry on the single version bit, so now I am wondering if I went elsewhere, probably Specsavers, how long will they take, it doesn't seem as though I am suppose to have prescription sunglasses :( , I'm just glad I have my old Varifocals to make do with while I sort this mess out.

I have now resorted to wearing my old Varifocals all the time as they are perfect, I just don't know why they can't replicate the old pair, especially as my prescription is the same as 2 years ago, but I suppose it depends on the glasses, as I think sheramber mentioned others have bigger lenses, it will be interesting to see what this specialists tomorrow says.

@Sammyg Specsavers varifocals (including polarised sunglasses) take 2 weeks. I had my eyes tested there 2 weeks ago and collected mine today. I have to say they were very thorough today, I was in there for almost 1 hour while they kept slightly adjusting both pairs until they were correct. To start with the left lens was slightly blurry for distance on both pairs but by the time I left both were great. Easy to just pop in to see them if they do need further slight adjustments as well.
I also got a 50% off voucher to use within 6 months. I'll make sure I'm definitely happy with this prescription then go back in a few weeks to choose a spare pair.

    Hi

Bit late, but I thought I would leave an update on this post, especially for people that has had the same experience with Vision Express, Paulbnm, I ended up walking into Vision Express with both pairs of glasses, oh I saw the Specialist, who tried to explain why they were that way, but regardless I insisted on a refund and saw the manager, who gave me a refund straight away, LucyLou, 7 times is ample amount of time to get it right, personally I think I was quite patient with them,  Paulbnm I hope you now have your refund, anyway, I ended up going to Specsavers Peppa357, thank you, they got it right first time, yes first time, as you said they take their time, I collected one pair first to see if they were ok, they were, then I collected the sunglasses just before my holiday, of course they were fine also, both pairs where also cheaper then Vision Express, I am so pleased,  :D like the advert says, I should of gone to Specsavers, so this is now my go to opticians, I am hoping this wasn't a fluke though and they continue giving great service, so thank you x
