You are not being difficult. You are entitled to glasses that work.

I was shown different qualities of lens for varifocals.

I was shown  the result from each version on a picture,

The cheaper ones did make the sides very fuzzy.

As you went up the quality the fuzziness got less.

I have the second top ones and have no fuzziness at the sides.
It does sound to me like he gave me the ones like you have sheramber, that certainly would of been of some help this time, as I wasn't shown any, so perhaps they just try to palm you off with the cheaper version, that guy before explained the different varifocal lenses to me, and the reaction lenses in depth, this time round I received nothing like that, thanks for the information,I can certainly discuss that on Friday.

I wonder, is it normal though to have 7 visits to your opticians regarding Varifocal glasses sheramber or anyone, as surely that’s not right, especially as you have the same sort of glasses and your prescription has not changed?

Which does beg the question, if what you say is true, as to why shops are selling glasses with fuzzy vision?

'Would Sir/Madam like the fuzzy glasses or would you prefer to pay a bit extra and get the ones where you can actually see clearly?'

'Oh, I'll definitively have the fuzzy ones, please. I want to save a few pounds'.

Beats me why their default is to give you an inapt cheaper version of the Varifocal and charge the earth for them, seems like they are trying to save theirselves money being cheaper for them to make, its terrible I think, you would expect for what you pay you would get the better version of the Varifocals Vectis, as I paid and I don't mind saying, over 600 for a pair of Designer Varifocal's  then a pair of the same type prescription Polarised sunglasses, as they had a 50% offer on, you wouldn't have thought so though, I know I shouldn't of paid that, but I was so fed up looking and as I said my old ones are scratched,  so for that much you expect the top notch ones, it does seem as I said they are doing my glasses with the cheaper version, as the sides are still fuzzy, hence the going backward and forward 6 times, it will be my 7th time at the same opticians Friday, but I am suppose to be seeing a specialist optician, I will definitely bring up the Varifocal discussion though, I am really getting peeved off with these Opticians, I feel like giving then all the blasted glasses back and going elsewhere, I won't though, besides I doubt I will get a full refund plus I will prob end up waiting longer somewhere else, but it really makes me mad, that they don't offer all this information to you when you are actually making a purchase, it just seems once you have your glasses and they have your money, they don't care.

Not everybody can afford the cost of the best .

Sime people will buy a made to measure suit and others will make do with one of the peg.

Some people buy a Dacia but others want a top of the range Volvo.

With the cheaper lenses you need to turn your head to the side to see the side vision clearly, such a reading a paper.

I was shown the dIfferent grades and didn't choose the top grade. The second top is sufficient for my needs. That grade may not be considered good enough for someone else.

Others might be happy to buy the lower grade as they don't see any problem.

You pays your money and makes your choice.

    I have used two opticians.

the first was Duncan and Todd , who became Dolland and Aitchison. They recommended I do not get the lowest grade of varifocals.  They were are small shop with very efficient staff who knew all their regular customers and gave personal attention.

Since  I moved Specsavers are much more convenient to get to. It was them who showed me the difference between the 4 grades they had,  Much bigger shop and each visit resulted in seeing somebody different so not same the personal service

The cost of the frames was the same in both places but Specsavers lenses were half the price of Dolland and Aitchison.

I should of gone to Specsavers, as the advert says  :D, by your reply they seem miles better, that's prob the kind of service I got two years ago when that man saw me, anyway I went to Vision Express instead, particularly as my old varifocals came from there, but this time I am deeply regretting it, I could kick myself, now I don't even think I can get a full refund now regardless of it being their fault, these glasses I am wearing now still don't seem right as I said it seems the varifocal bit is different, prob as you say the low cost ones.

I don't see why they can't get it right, as I told them my old glasses where perfect so if should be a case of just matching them, surely they can see what sort of varifocals are in them, oh well I will see what Friday brings, the longer this goes on I definitely won't get a refund.
