GATWICK DROP Autopay - A brief heads up

Folks, just a brief pubic service announcement for those who use the drop off zone at Gatwick and are registered on NCP's Autopay; I've now had two drop offs where the system has not processed a payment. The first resulted in a PCN, subject of my last thread, whereby I appealed and told them to do one and that they could have the fiver and no more. Sorted. 

Most recently, had another drop off not registered for payment, I only checked it because I had an email for a Heathrow drop off autopay about a week afterwards to find the Gatwick transaction not registered. The two airports use different companies BTW. 

This time I proactively contacted them via their contact portal, sending a snotty message with threats of ICO etc if I got another PCN and got the following response:

Dear ,

Reference #: 

I hope this email finds you well. Our sincere apologies for the delay in replying to your enquiry. 

If you have a query that  requires an immediate response, please contact us at 0345 050 7080 and choose option 2 to be routed to the customer service team.

We are unable to locate any ANPR captures in reference to your vehicle registration number on 19/10/2023 for both North and South Drop Off Zones. 

I can also confirm there are no outstanding invoices for the said date so no PCN should be issued.

While I could have just waited and done the usual appeal, I can't be spending. more time than necessary dealing with these cretins and their equally cretinous computer system. If you're on Autopay, you should get an email within 24 hours of dropping off, if you don't, could be worth doing what I did. 

In addition, my car has recently had an entire week of parking at local TFL car parks without being charged, even though both house vehicles are on Autopay. Seems like the system is rubbish. Hey ho!
