YBS Christmas Saver Maturity

The interest has been added today.
Do YBS  automatically transfer it to savings account now?

  • Mine says it's moving over to Internet Saver Plus 13 tomorrow - there's a 'Find out what happens next' box in the app which should tell you where yours will be transferred, I guess there's probably something similar in online banking.

The interest was 'added' 10 days ago and should be left there until they move it otherwise you might run into problems as others have done previously.

The email I received a couple of weeks ago says the balance is automatically moving to my Internet Saver Plus Issue 13 on 1st November. Given that interest has already been added presumably they're not going to add an extra day.

I've just realised that the Christmas Saver account allows one withdrawal. I've therefore used that today to withdraw the full balance minus £1, which should arrive in my current account tomorrow.

It looks like I may have volunteered to test their systems for them

I'll report back on any problems I encounter with the money arriving in my current account or the remaining £1 being transferred.

The interest was 'added' to my account today, and i guess the debit is YBS transfer to saver acc.

The debit shown above is zero 'tax paid'. I guess it's a carryover from the old days when they used to deduct tax at source from savings interest.

The full balance is still in the account and the transfer to the saver account isn't due to happen until tomorrow.

    Absolutely.

The interest has been on mine since last week.

I transferred, all but £300, from in last Thursday.

One thing which is off topic but YBS now allow DC payments to be made into their accounts via their app rather than just their website.
  • The way I read it I couldn't take out the full amount today. The indication was that I had to leave at least a pound there. I've therefore transferred all bar a couple of quid to my current account. Apparently this should arrive tomorrow.I also have no further withdrawals allowed until the 23rd January 2024. I can live with that.

Haven't done it myself, but in 'account options' there is a close account option
