When they ask for meter readings they want 6 digit ones not some arbitrary kwh usage from some arbitrary time
i guess i better go buy a triangle key and give up on technology that's gone backwards
my old SMET1 meter shoed the proper 6 digit readings this is stupid :¬(
but seems clever to hide this - so i have to just believe them
seems my message was 9 character to short so here is more text forum

It reads 3268kWh. My meter reading is 3268. Or 03268, if you need five digits. Or 003268, if you need six.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. That's what the forum is for !Remember that if you need to send a gas meter reading (e.g. if you switch to a new supplier) it needs to be in cubic metres (m3). Some IHDs and smart meters also show the gas reading in kWh. It's intended to be helpful, but it can cause massive confusion when a kWh reading is sent and it generates a bill that's more than ten times the correct amount.1
