New SmartMeter Geo Trio II - cant get my lec of gas readings - can anyone help?

Options

i have a Trio II but the meter does not show me meter readings, just Kwh
Under Meters->Electricity->Import reading
it shows 58.6kwh instead of a meter reading

this feels like a scam to make me not check meter readings :¬(

is there a way to get the IHD to show proper meter readings
I'm recovering stroke guy and i dont like going out to the meter cupboard and unlocking it to get my readings

apologise if I'm in wrong place/time :¬):¬)

Meter readings are in kWh. Assuming the meter was at zero when fitted then you've used 58.6kWh. The meter should send your readings automatically, so no need to go out and read it.

Does your meter read 58.6, or not?

Nope, unless it's only been in situ for a week.

It's a very poor IHD and it was obviously not thought that any domestic user would ever want to take a meter reading.  It's even confused EDF and SO Energy because they've both produced explanatory videos that fail to show how to take a meter reading !🤔
It is possible, but you have to navigate through a maze.
Press the Home button in the bottom left corner and scroll through the options to find the 'Electricity meter' screen shown on Page 11:-

And it might well have been.

I think that is exactly what the OP has done:
    Under Meters->Electricity->Import reading
    it shows 58.6kwh
That's more or less where the meter readings are on my Geo Trio II.
    Home > Meters > Electricity.
The electricity meter reading is in kWh, the gas meter reading is in cubic metres.

  • ty everyone for trying to help :¬) appreciate it

although im sure the meter readings are sent to BG perfectly (i called them they are ok)
the trio II is set up somehow to only show KWH not the readings they ask for

this is how i want it to work
from the manual posted above (i am not alowed to post links im to new)

HOW IT SHOULD LOOK... Cant post images to forum yet :¬(:-(
    Reading 49562.315

but mine does not look like that its readings
mine looks like this and its no good for getting reading

HOW MINE LOOKS... Cant post images to forum yet :¬(:-(
    Import Reading  58.9kWh

as a recovering stroke guy, i would have to go outside and
use a triangle key and push buttons and take photos
    Doable but doh!

    REASON I WANT THIS

I dont want to just take what ever BG system says i used without checking it myself here
Also after estimates causing me a lot of issues in the past i need a record of this

TY all again I'm guessing I'm stuffed as usual
P.S. maybe an accidental 0.1W export has caused this i dunno its not my job ;¬)

Have you got a prepayment eectricity account?
Your Trio II has slightly different screens to mine, but it looks OK.

Yes, this is an important point. Has your meter been installed recently?
although im sure the meter readings are sent to BG perfectly (i called them they are ok)
the trio II is set up somehow to only show KWH not the readings they ask for
What readings are BG asking for?

58kWh sounds a plausible total usage for 14 days, if you are reasonably careful with energy.
