My point was that you are not the first person in the military to be based away from your home (assuming you have one) and there must be or should be a mechanism for joining you with your important post.  What about, for example, house/car insurance/car VED/phone contract renewal and payment of utility bills?

Yes most people go for the delivered to base option I mention which is fine if you actually spend enough time there which I don't. All the documents you mentioned above I have delivered to my parent's.

I think your parents' address is safest.

Your current stage is post 4 of the NEWBIES thread. Ignoring the daft £170 demands!

Make your parents PROMISE NOT TO PAY when the court claim arrives in 2024.
There is nothing to panic about and you will be able to defend by email from wherever you are and can state in a later court form, the months when you will be away and your situation, which means you'd need a telephone hearing if the claim is not struck out due to CEL v Chan.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Currently drafting an email to the landowner. If I admit to being the driver/keeper and admit to overstaying the closed time in this email can this come back to bite me?

You can write an email outlining the situation; you are the registered keeper (how else would you know about the PCN) but you don't need to say you were driving, in fact DON'T we've seen instances of landowners forwarding emails to PPCs (thinking they were helping) complete with driver's details!
