Opinion needed on which new tablet to get

Not sure how you purchased a Fire Max 11 last Black Friday when the thing was only released in May but anyways....tonygold said:Another vote for an Amazon Fire tablet. I have an HD10 which was ok but on last Black Friday I bought their brand new Fire 11 Max for £129.99 reduced from £239 IIRC. It is superb, and chalk and cheese to my HD10. Sideloading the Google Playstore is easy enough or just download the apps you want (that are not in the amazon store) from a site like APK Pure in apk format. Not found one yet that doesn't work properly apart from the eBay app of all things!!
Amazon have the Fire Max 11 down to £134 at the moment

I would get
a convertible chrome book– can be used as a tablet or with a keyboard but crucially comes with around 10 years of operating system updates so it will run everything for around 10 years rather than being stuck with the version of android that was current when it was designed like many tablets are. They run android apps as well and can be tightly integrated with your phone.<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3065310?istCompanyId=a74d8886-5df9-4baa-b776-166b3bf9111c&istFeedId=30f62ea9-9626-4cac-97c8-9ff3921f8558&istItemId=rlrttlqla&istBid=t&&cmpid=GS001&_$ja=tsid:59157%7Cacid:804-627-9544%7Ccid:20264799336%7Cagid:%7Ctid:%7Ccrid:%7Cnw:x%7Crnd:15804886241224819508%7Cdvc:c%7Cadp:%7Cmt:%7Cloc:1006886&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20264799336&utm_term=3065310&utm_content=shopping&utm_custom1=&utm_custom2=804-627-9544&GPDP=true&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA6vaqBhCbARIsACF9M6mmQbmQKZjX3LKt1w-RlkSM7szL0Roqzn7jNguAgZtyM71tOPd5yFoaAhNeEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds" title="Link: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3065310?istCompanyId=a74d8886-5df9-4baa-b776-166b3bf9111c&istFeedId=30f62ea9-9626-4cac-97c8-9ff3921f8558&istItemId=rlrttlqla&istBid=t&&cmpid=GS001&_$ja=tsid:59157%7Cacid:804-627-9544%7Ccid:20264799336%7Cagid:%7Ctid:%7Ccrid:%7Cnw:x%7Crnd:15804886241224819508%7Cdvc:c%7Cadp:%7Cmt:%7Cloc:1006886&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20264799336&utm_term=3065310&utm_content=shopping&utm_custom1=&utm_custom2=804-627-9544&GPDP=true&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA6vaqBhCbARIsACF9M6mmQbmQKZjX3LKt1w-RlkSM7szL0Roqzn7jNguAgZtyM71tOPd5yFoaAhNeEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds">This is a good one</a> and they often end up much cheaper than this. <br>

That is incorrect, the Fire tablet runs android, it is just the public version and skinned.sleepyjones said:I think it depends on what you use the tablet for.
I would never buy a fire tablet though. It doesn't run on Android, it runs it's own "Fire" OS, which means most (like 90%) of the apps on Google Play won't work on it.
Stick to Android .., get a Samsung or look at the Honor Pad's if want something a bit cheaper ... DON'T get a Fire tablet though, in my opinion.
Wait for Black Friday though and buy it then, you'll get a much better deal (24th Nov)
You can side load Google play onto it and have access to all of the apps that Google provide, and they are all going to work provided they support that version of Android the tablet is running, just like any other Android based tablet.
From what the OP has described the Fire HD 10 would do the job. There are better tablets, they typically cost more so that is the balance.0 -
The duet 3 is quite new, I think you are thinking of the original duet.RumRat said:

Duet 3 end of life (AUE) is 2030. It was released elsewhere before the UK which got it 6 months or so later. I think it was Jan 22 original release. You can find the AUE in the Chromebook settings somewhere.rdr said:
