Google on mobile (Huawei)
Hi, have had several pop up/messages, saying my Google account "Security threat.. Google appears to be infected. Immediate uninstallation is advised.... Ignore Uninstall" . It looks genuine. No links.
Should I ?? How would I put it back ?Do you 'just' download from Playstore ? Nothing on PC. Phone has been slowing down for a while but everything seems to work OK

Play Protect in the play store settings will tell you if there is a problem with an app.If there’s nothing there is nothing there then I think you’ve either downloaded a malicious app or have clicked on a dodgy advert.0

Just scanned with Avast & no issues.Life in the slow lane0 -

This issue is being reported worldwide by Huawei users. Many seem to think it is a false positive by the Huawei Optimiser app. The cure seems to be to allow the Google update, then go to apps and find Optimiser, select Storage, then delete cache and data. Restart your device and run Optimiser, hopefully it no longer detects a Trojan SMS.1

This caused a bit of a panic with mother in law last night, assumed from the description it was some kind of web popup.
I can see Google app was updated yesterday which must have triggered it.1
