BT Contract ending soon - Vodafone, Plusnet or Zen?
We don't currently have a phone call package with BT (we use our mobiles), but our (digital) landline is still live and is plugged into the BT hub, so we can still take incoming calls. We wouldn’t want to lose this facility, so I’m wondering if we would still have this with a Shell hub? It looks like it, as there is a phone socket on their hub as far as I can see. Has anyone experience of this scenario? i.e. changing from BT to Shell (full fibre)
Dunno about Shell but that's how it worked when we went to Vodafone from BT. The phone number got tranferred to our VF router but that was because we requested it. Having a phone socket on the router is not the same as having it enabled and the number transferred
You'll have to ask Shell if you want a definitive answer rather than random guesses from forum members.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
Thought I’d post an update on this just for info really. I was all set to go with Shell, but I discovered they DO NOT offer a landline option, and receiving incoming calls is important to us, so they were a non starter. To their credit, Shell emailed me back in good time with that info.
So I’ve renewed with BT after an online chat, where I asked them why they wouldn’t match the deal new customers were being offered? I told them I wasn’t happy about this and would probably be leaving, so eventually the lady put me on to her ‘manager’ who matched the new customer offer, so all good. However, they have now introduced a separate charge for landline ‘rental’ of £3 p.m., PAYG.
