No planning required for those, it's inside the house.

But they're not great, particularly when it comes to noise.

Typically about 60dB, which is more than I'd want in my lounge, let alone my bedroom.
(This is a consequence of having all the machinery insifde the house with you, rather than the other side of a cavity wall.)
