Even if you stay with them then it is perfectly okay to say no you are not going to use that system. You will carry on paying them by bank transfer. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
Thanks , but I have asked them and they wont let me. They say from January that is the only way to pay.elsien said:Even if you stay with them then it is perfectly okay to say no you are not going to use that system. You will carry on paying them by bank transfer.0 -
If they are happy to lose your custom that is their decision to make. You might want to check if you can find someone else first, to be on the safeside. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Wow... This'd be a red rag to a bull here; I'd be waving goodbye with the rag and finding another window cleaner.

Don't let tradesmen/others/anyone tell you they 'won't let you'.... how very arrogant.GoldenOldy said:

If all their customers meekly go along with their demands they're very lucky because the majority of people i know would, politely, decline their demand/insistence.
There will be many property maintenance guys, in your areas, that would do it for you - do some research, speak with them and take it from there.4 -
Mines a 4 bed detached but not massive. A local cleaner wanted £30. He uses one of those pole systems using filtered water. I guess he has overheads but he can do a house like mine in 10-15 minutes.1

10-15 minutes of a window cleaner's time isn't all you are paying for. They need a van, a water purifying system, a cleaning system, petrol, pay various taxes, work clothes etc etc.

GoCardless is a direct debit platform. Far superior to the old DD systems that are still around.
Perfectly safe, it's registered with the FCA.

In what ways do you believe GOCardless is "Far superior to the old DD systems that are still around"?penners324 said:GoCardless is a direct debit platform. Far superior to the old DD systems that are still around.

I don't see the problem really. If you are going to pay them anyway does it really matter how the money is moved? It's not much different to the 20+ direct debits you have set up for all your other bills.
