Window Cleaner insisting I pay on Go Cardless…can it be trusted?

Good afternoon,
My window cleaning bill is quite hefty at £34 a go.
I transfer the money the minute after they have been,
There have been the odd slip up by them saying theyve been and they haven, but few and far between.
The cleaner is now insisting I pay via Go Cardless.
I know i’m a bit of a fuddy duddy, but I’m not sure if this feels right just allowing someone ‘into’ your bank account.
Does anyone have any views here please?
Many Thanks

GoCardless is what my monthly electric vehicle charging payments get collected by. There's never been an issues. They are an established company.
Money is collected by direct debit and any monies taken are therefore covered by (the robust) direct debit guarantee.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!1 -
£34 to clean your windows!!!
AND they are specifying how you pay !
I'm clearly in the wrong job.8 -

Do you live in a mansion? My windows cost £72

My window cleaner is £13 every 4 weeks. I live in an end terraced with no conservatory. I pay him by bank transfer.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £29,419.760

My view is that unless you live in one of those TV "Grand Designs" that have more glass than walls you seriously need to find another window cleaner. As for him dictating the payment method you should stand your ground. If he doesn't like it then he loses a customer.4

Thanks all. It is a big old house with many windows ,however I do feel that the amount is excessive. Yes, I think I may look for an alternative person. I feel a bit pressurised with this company to be honest.1
