Did they accept that your claim qualified under their guarantee or just dress it up as a goodwill gesture, etc?

might be worth updating the original post if you booked with trip.com to avoid confusion....it says mytrip.com which is why people commented on mytrip's terms rather than trip.com's....they are totally different companies.
