Warm Home Discount

The eligibility calculator is now live on the .gov.uk website, so if you have not had a letter then put your details and see if you qualify. https://www.gov.uk/check-if-youre-eligible-for-warm-home-discount From what I can see it still relies on the property having an EPC to allow an instant decision to be given. There is also on the website the helpline number to ring.

And just to be really clear since a LOT of people misunderstood this last year, it's not for the EPC rating but the information that's available on it (particularly age and size of the property).JohnPo said:The eligibility calculator is now live on the .gov.uk website, so if you have not had a letter then put your details and see if you qualify. https://www.gov.uk/check-if-youre-eligible-for-warm-home-discount From what I can see it still relies on the property having an EPC to allow an instant decision to be given. There is also on the website the helpline number to ring.0 -
I've sent this to them already, they replied confirming they can see I am eligible, and confirmed the amount will be credited to my energy account. I said I'm no longer an energy customer, they told me I need to apply for it with my new supplierArbitraryRandom said:... could you respond to them saying 'I have received confirmation I am eligible - please see attached letter'?
Going round in circles. Even if I had a new supplier, they would still be liable for making the payment to me. 1 -
Thanks, I know I am eligible though as I've already had the letter. Just struggling to confirm how/if it still applies to me now in my situation. May have to ring the helpline and see if they can advise further.JohnPo said:The eligibility calculator is now live on the .gov.uk website, so if you have not had a letter then put your details and see if you qualify. https://www.gov.uk/check-if-youre-eligible-for-warm-home-discount From what I can see it still relies on the property having an EPC to allow an instant decision to be given. There is also on the website the helpline number to ring.0 -

I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.1 -
Might be worth it to see if it gets me to the correct answer.ArbitraryRandom said:

There latest reply is basically - yes you were eligible, just wait and see to find out if you receive your payment from us.1 -
I was with shell energy and they informed me that I’m being moved to Octopus and I’ve always got the warm home discount as I’m disabled and now it’s not arrived in my account and octopus are questioning it. Shell ensured me that everything would be the same and my discount would be added.
now it looks like I’m not going to get it 😡0 -
Which country are you in? If England or Wales, if you were eligible you should have got a letter to say so, because the scheme has changed. You now need to be claiming a qualifying means-tested benefit and live in a property deemed to have intrinsically high energy costs (calculated by type of property, age, and size).dorey69 said:I was with shell energy and they informed me that I’m being moved to Octopus and I’ve always got the warm home discount as I’m disabled and now it’s not arrived in my account and octopus are questioning it. If in Scotland you needed to have applied as usual, but the criteria are tighter than before so having qualified for many years may still be irrelevant.0
