Virgin Money - "Access Denied" to Cash ISA account after internal transfer. Anyone else?

I've held a cash ISA with Virgin Money for a couple of years and today have opened a new cash ISA with them, transferring the balance across.

I received an email immediately confirming that the application was successful, and I could log in to see my account details, including balance.

When I did log in, I can see the (old) account number and sort code, but the other details are showing as 'Access Denied'.

Worryingly, when I called them they didn't seem to know anything about this and took me through password resets, logging in from a different device etc.

When none of that worked, they decided that the 'Access Denied' is in fact correct and it will all be ok tomorrow, despite this being the opposite of what had been stated in both the original email and the telephone conversation!

I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what happens, but in the meantime, I'd appreciate it if anyone else could confirm if they've had this (and that it all turned out OK!).

A few days ago through the Virgin website I set up an automated transfer of a Virgin 1 year fix which matured today to a new issue 1 year fix.

After reading your post I thought I would check the status this evening !!

If I look at the old 1 year fix a/c online I get this message :

    Read only access

This account is currently 'read only'. You can view your statement, and interest and tax details, but cannot transact on this account.

I can view the old a/c and new a/c details and both show the transfer date as yesterday (23/11).

Hopefully it will sort itself out on your a/c overnight, but I can understand your concern.

    Thanks for your reply.

That was more what I was expecting mine to show, rather than 'Access Denied'!

I would normally have done the transfer in advance the same as you did, but I wasn't able to do so this time, so it dropped into the 0.25% 'holding' account at midnight and then I requested the transfer this afternoon.

Something's gone wrong, but hopefully all will be fine when I log in tomorrow.

These ISA transfers are never as easy as they should be!

Are you saying that you transferred the ISA money yourself rather than request Virgin to complete a transfer if so you have lost the tax free advantage from the previous year?
