Warm Home Discount

Options
My adult autistic daughter who lives with me has received a letter from HM Government indicating she is entitled to a £150.00 energy bill discount, which will be automatically applied to her energy account.
However, I pay all the bills and all are in my name.
Am I able to claim or somehow transfer this discount?

It should probably be credited anyway, to the account attached to her address.

That surprises me. I will keep an eye on my energy account.

Son had this letter  and had an email from my energy firm it would be on my next bill. He is not on my bill but neither is my husband, i have always had to claim it. Because son is on benefits and lives at home he is entitled to this. I had it last year and was confused as we became pensioners and weren't entitled any more.

So you didn't need to claim it or contact your energy supplier this time? Your energy supplier contacted you to say you would get it?

Unless you live in Scotland you do not need to claim it. If entitled to it you will be contacted.

Had an email from my energy firm and it has been credited  my bill. like last year. I used to claim in the broader group that is why i was confused when i knew i could not claim this because we became pensioners.

I've put my electric in my name with OVO and my gas I've sent all the things they wanted to put my name on it but they seem to be slow at alot of things (Shell)

The qualifying date was in August (13th?  I can't quite remember).

Unless you're in Scotland PIP is irrelevant.  Your flat will have to be large enough and old enough to qualify as having high energy costs, which may be unlikely.

Do you know how large it is and how old it is?

Oh damn, I live in quite a new building and I bet I'm not eligible then.... I cant keep the heat in because the window just seems to let cold in so easily and its PVC but the heat just pretty much blows straight out.

Maybe head on over to the energy board and see if they have any advice for stopping quite so much heat escaping.
