A tutor once described the halfway point of any project as "the miserable middle" and stated that this was where there was a danger of a project being abandoned because the benefits weren't yet in sight.

But what an amazing achievement on your part!! Don't sell yourself short, and don't give up :-)

How much longer do you have on your notice? Will you get a lovely send-off? I once had a boss (Managing Director) who became a monster to work for if anyone handed in their notice. He pettily deducted the cost of a couple of text books from my BA course from my final salary!

What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

I start mid-June which will give me an extra £5k on my base pay but also an annual bonus - guaranteed at £3k for next February. I currently don't get any type of bonus so that will all be extra as well!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)

I'm starting with my goals as want to feel a bit more momentum/ focus in a few aspects...
    • Finish sorting out craft supplies - both storage unit/ cupboard and under the spare bed
    • Add in next two colours on my crochet blanket
    • Get to end of ball of yarn on knitted jumper - should pretty much finish the body to roughly where I want to start the ribbing
    • Sew in ends on a project so that I can tick it off!
    • Book acro workshop weekend for June
    • Order green bin
    • Consider painting fence at the weekend (weather and time permitting!)

Again I'm starting the week feeling all out of sorts financially and starting to wonder if my current spreadsheet/ banking set up is working for me! I have different accounts for different "pots" but feel like I keep ending up with money in the wrong places, so something I need to consider how to adapt. Also I think I've overspent at the start of the month, with various plans scheduled coming up! However, to balance this and make me feel 'better' this morning I have sent another £50 to the CC!

Had a nice weekend though - picked up bf's son on Saturday morning so had them both for the weekend, but now they've both gone back to their mums. House feels quiet again now after a week with bf's daughter! Few plans this week - including a walk with my friend one evening as he lives on my road but been ages since I saw him!!! Then acro Wednesday, netball Thursday and then maybe golf(!!!) with bf on Friday - although weather isn't looking great! Sunday with have tickets for an event with a group of my friends - however two of them (sisters) lost their other sister to suicide a couple of weeks ago, so may adapt plans to be more local/ chilled to suit them. Then next Monday I am going for dinner with my best friend as she is down for the funeral which is on Tuesday. However, in the background is that bf's dad's carers have said he needs to go into a hospice, so that deterioration (although expected) is making everything unsettled. The good news though is that his mum is hopefully leaving hospital to go into a care home today - obviously not her ideal but at least it will mean she can have her own space after being in hospital since January.

    Today's list...
    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Make CC payment
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Work on knitting project at lunch
    • Possibly go for a walk with my friend
    • Do some sorting out in spare room
    • Dinner from stores
    • Work on crochet blanket - going to a put a marker in to see where I start the week and so can track progress! Will do the same with the jumper

I didn't end up doing any sorting last night but I did go for a walk with my friend and then me and bf went food shopping - my half was £15. We then had dinner and watched a bit of TV and then I did a small amount of crochet. I did mark where I started the week so that I can actually see my progress! Tonight bf has a few things to do after work so I am intending on being a bit more productive!

I received my £5 "reward" from my bank account, so I have shuffled that to my misc savings (which I am still trying to rebuild to £100). But the "bad" news is that plans have changed for Sunday so we aren't going to the event we had tickets for - meaning my total wasted expense this year is £240 for things I had tickets for but haven't attended for one reason or another!

Today's list of bits and bobs...
    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Work on knitting project at lunch
    • Pay for green bin collection
    • Do some sorting out in spare room - minimum is sorting out pattern books!
    • Dinner from stores - will grab something quick and bf will sort himself out
    • Measure "new" knitting project - row gauge was off and at the point where I need to consider if I need to adapt pattern
    • Sew in 10 ends on "completed" project!
    • Work on crochet blanket if I have any time left!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)

A group of us booked (another friend purchased them for us all) and I think she was contacting the company to see if we could get a refund (unlikely) or put them on fb to try get some money back....

    Hold that thought!
Just had a voice note to say they are actually changing the date of the event so should get the cost refunded!!! So that is £35 to come back to me!

I paid for the green bin earlier, bf will transfer me half so cost £34 each - printed out the confirmation as they are due to be collected on Thursday but we are unlikely to get the sticker by then! On my lunch break I reached the point on my knitted top where I need to potentially add some extra rows - however didn't bring my tape measure to work, so stopped until I can measure and double check a few things!
