Yesterday felt like a positive day! Applied for a couple more jobs and obviously spoke to the recruiter and then had a great class at acro (paid the lower amount)! I managed a bit of sorting before I went out, although it was mainly moving things rather than properly going through! For example, I have moved the Vinted bag to a better location out of the way but still need to go through it!

Today is a busy day as I am going to my stitch night straight from work and then going to netball straight from there! I have bought all my things with me to work as although I have a bit of time between work and stitch night, it doesn't make sense to go home in between! So won't be home until about 10:15 tonight! Thankfully I am working from home tomorrow so at least I can have a more chilled morning! I have decided that I am going to treat myself to something to eat whilst I am out

I have had an email from the recruitment company asking for proof of my qualifications - well I finished uni 15 years ago and am hoping my parents have it with all my other school certificates, otherwise I have zero clue where it could be!!! I have texted them to ask, thankfully they are much more organised with paperwork than me so will be able to tell me if they're not there and then I will have to begin my hunt!

Oh and I still have an error between my spreadsheet and my account! I believe I said previously that it was £30-odd and now it's £50.84 - so I'm guessing an error in the spreadsheet some where but I'm struggling to work it out at the moment! At least it's in my favour (i.e. too much in the account) but I need to find the cause so that it's all accurate!!!

    Today's little list...
    • Take lunch to work - other half of the chicken breast I cooked in a wrap
    • Take netball stuff to work
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Spend a bit more time analysing my 2024 spending
    • Park for free for stitch night - need to think where though as it will be dark!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)

I have an interview next Thursday!!!! It's an online interview but will need to make an excuse to work from home that day! It's a confidence boost that someone wants to talk to me at least!!!

I finished totalling up all the various spending categories for 2024 yesterday. Now I just need to spend some time considering the figures and if there is anything I want to monitor/ change for this year. Also still need to find that error in my spreadsheet!

Thoroughly enjoyed stitch night last night - more chat than stitching (as always!) I spent £20 on dinner and a drink - tried something I wouldn't usually go for and it was really nice! Then had a change of pace and played netball! (We won!) They did make my drink wrong - thankfully wrong enough that I wouldn't drink it so took it back (I'm a bit of a wimp at complaining!) - turned out they put it in the till wrong so I'd paid too much. They gave me the difference (very kind as I didn't realise) but annoyingly in cash, so now I have 70p floating around in my bag!

I'm working from home today, as is bf - although he's upstairs. However there's no food in for lunch so not sure what to eat! Will probably pop out to Aldi for some bread or something and make a sandwich. Don't really have any plans for the weekend - no kids this weekend so may just be a nice chilled one with bf.

Today's list of bits and bobs:
    • Text friend bank details - she owed me £10 for a painting workshop
    • Book pole dancing for me and a friend - I have very varied interests!!!
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Load of washing on 30 degree quick wash
    • Pop to shop for a few bits
    • Snap receipt
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Meals from stores
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)

Decided to use £10 from my "fitness pot" that I won't need to send to the CC as that meant I have paid of another percent! I have now paid 3% of my total debt this year, and 46% off since I (re)started my journey!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)

I wasn't going to say anything about the spreadsheet as you probably know more than I do but.....  My latest error which took me an embarrassing amount of time to find was putting £14.70 instead of £17.40 but that causes a difference which is divisible by 9.  Another error some time ago was caused by copy and pasting to insert a line rather than just inserting a line.  It meant that the total instead of going from adding 1 to 12 to adding 1 to 13 went to adding 2 to 13.  Hope you find it soon as I know it drives me up the wall

Thanks for your comment @Hazelnutty. There is a way for me to "qualify" but under the structure of my current firm, it's not permissible, so I couldn't do it in my own time/ secret (and would need about £5k to do it myself!). Basically I did a law degree and the next uni step to become a solicitor but not the final bit needed. So I am not a "qualified solicitor" but work as a "lawyer" as the specific area I specialise in doesn't legally require me to be qualified - for other areas of law you must be qualified or work within a traditional/ regulated law firm under the supervision of a solicitor. So it's possible, but not where I am at the moment!

    However...

I spoke to a recruiter yesterday about a potential role that she wants to put me forward for within a firm which has a similar structure/ view to my current place (i.e. being qualified is unnecessary red tape for some areas), but they "support employees through gaining qualification". So that is fairly exciting! I don't have all the finer details but would potentially be for £10k more a year. It would involve a long commute but only once a week and the rest from home - so if you work out how long I spend commuting currently (generally in the office 5 days a week unless there's a reason to work from home) then actually it would be less of a commute.

Anyway, will wait and see if the company are interested in me!
Ooh that sounds really positive and gives you a progression pathway. Got everything crossed for you!
    Choose kind:)

Btw you can get copies of your university transcripts if you contact them. There's usually a small charge but may be worth doing if you're applying for a few jobs atm

Thanks for all your comments - including about the spreadsheet error (which I still haven't found!!!)

Fairly quiet and frugal weekend! Had a lovely walk down the beach on Saturday morning as the weather was good! Then met one of bf's friends at the pub and had some lunch, so that was the main expense of the weekend (£22). We did do a food shop on Friday which should see us through until the weekend - if this is the case, I will end the month with £29 left in the grocery budget! Whatever is left will get shuffled off to the CC. I realised I still had one area to sort to reach my goal for the week, so I sorted out a random drawer in the bedroom whilst bf was having a golf lesson yesterday - didn't find anything of interest but did get rid of a few things! Oh and I got the certificates I needed from my parents!

As we are nearing the of the month, I have made a £50 CC payment this morning (with another £50 set aside for a further payment). Bf has been paid this morning, so has paid me his half of the bills for next month - budget doesn't start until Friday (my payday) so that has been set aside for now.

    Today's bits and bobs...
    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Take book to work - one that I've read that boss may like
    • Make CC payment
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Send documents off to recruitment company
    • Dinner from stores
    • Get project bag together for merman so that I can start it!

    Current debt - £5,935.00
