Couple of other updates before I get on to my list for the day! I waxed my legs over the weekend, which is why it isn't on the list for this week! Also hit the £5 threshold for shoppix so that's been claimed. I did stick a pair of white (but not so white anymore) trainers in the wash to see how they came up to possibly list them on Vinted, but unfortunately they're still really yellow so either need to wear them or dump them! I am going to go through my shoes and see if there is any that I can sell - have a couple of pairs in mind. As the current Vinted balance of £45 came from selling bf's clothes I am going to shove that in the house/ DIY fund, as that seems fairest (i.e. his bits but my effort) - but anything from selling my bits (once I list them) may go elsewhere.

    Right on to today...
    • Make lunch to take to work - including some bits left over from the bbq
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Make £100 CC payment
    • Work on jumper at lunch
    • Start sorting out birthday plans for mum
    • Load of washing on 30 degree quick wash
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Dinner from stores - again bbq leftovers
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £6,905.00
Total paid off - £8,695.89 (55% paid off)

Putting the £45 from selling bf things on vinted into the house pot looks perfect to me, you both contributed to making the money and it is a pot you will both benefit from when it's spent 😊

That was my thinking @Baileys_Babe - whilst bf was just going to put in a clothes bank, I don't think he realised how much I was going to make! There's still 6 of his things listed on there, but they are only for very small amounts. I think it inspired bf as he has mentioned a couple of other things that he might get me to pop on there too!

Feeling a bit more on track today! I had overspent early in the month, then had a few house expenses and so was feeling deflated - particularly as I had to re-allocate some money that I had intended to overpay off the CC to pay for our new bbq. So I won't hit my £500 target for debt payments, but I do have another £100 so it will be at least £385 for the month. I was worried I was going to have to divert more from the funds allocated towards debt busting but have managed to be left with about £40 left between my grocery and personal budget! Hoping to have a little left to throw a bit more at the debt.

Also managed to finalise budget for next month after a chat with bf. I wasn't sure if he was paying me everything next month, or splitting it between a couple of months (long story but he's had a month off work). However he has said he will pay me as usual, so it won't be a tighter month. Meaning I should be able to "fully fund" all my sinking pots next month! I will then just have to top them back up as and when I spend from them - whereas currently I'm trying to cover spending and increase what is in there! In the future I may increase the minimums once I better understand how much I'm spending but I will happy to have gotten to the point of having them funded.

    Today's jobs...
    • Make lunch to take to work - including some bbq leftovers
    • Claim £40 from Vinted (was going to wait until the last £5 came in but got impatient!)
    • Make £100 CC payment
    • Finalise June budget
    • Work on a bit of knitting at lunch - although have pooch with me so will also take her out for a walk
    • Small dinner from stores
    • Pull out two things to list on Vinted
    • Pay lowest amount at acro

Just made the CC payment and it meant I'd paid off another 1% of my starting debt, so currently 54% paid. I had hoped to get into the £6k's this month but it's currently at £7,105 so won't be this month but will be able to hit that milestone once I get paid!

I also realised yesterday that next week marks 2 years since me and ex split up and I started taking my financial situation seriously and getting everything under control! I will be taking stock properly and doing a round up next week, but despite the hurdles (and wanting the debt out of my life like the ex) I have made good progress!

We're nearly at pay day!!! I am a bit impatient so have already shuffled all my money together so that I could see exactly what is left and as a result have made a £15 CC payment this morning! Should hopefully have about another £20 for an additional CC payment if I don't spend anything (other than from "pots") today. However I am currently at £400 of payments for the month - so won't reach my target of £500 but trying to remind myself that it's all progress in the right direction!

I did get petrol on my way in to work (£45) - I still had half a tank but I get a £5 reward each month if I spend a certain amount from that account, however I was a bit short so got petrol early. Also going to get some tickets for a day out with my mum next Friday for her birthday (cost is £30). So hoping that will get me across the line to get the £5. It's because of how I split my money between accounts, means I sometimes struggle to reach the £500 spend required!

Pulled out a few pairs of shoes last night - not sure if 2 are worth listing on Vinted as they're not in the best condition. Maybe I'll stick them on there but only keep them hanging around for a certain time frame before I just dump them instead. One pair I am definitely going to stick on there and have another pair them I'm debating whether to keep or sell - haven't worn them but mainly because I forgot they were in the cupboard! So the decluttering is continuing... or will be once I actually list/ make decisions!

    Today's bits and pieces...

    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Make CC payment
    • Get petrol on way in
    • Snap receipt
    • Book tickets for day out
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Work on knitting at lunch
    • Sort out final induction form for new job (did one part yesterday)
    • Dinner from stores
    • Park for free at netball

So I managed to sweep up enough to make a £15 CC payment. Then when my salary hit, I paid another £80 CC payment meaning my debt total now starts with a 6!!!! Current amount is £6,995! So that's the big news!

Had a few spends over the weekend but it was blooming lovely!

Friday I had the day off and went with my bf to play golf - he played golf and I drove the buggy! Then we stopped for some lunch, popped in to see his mum and then spent the evening at a local country bar. I drove but bf had a few beers - but it was lovely sat outside chatting with various people (we had the pooch and she draws attention as she is ridiculously small and super cute!) They had a line dancing class on which I wouldn't have thought was my thing but it looked a great atmosphere so we're going to give it a try in a couple of weeks!

Saturday bf went out to play golf with his friends and I pottered around the house getting some housework done. Then one of the girls from acro asked if anyone fancied a walk so I went out with her for a few hours. Went to a woods very local to me but I'd never been before, will definitely go back as was very nice! Then we had a quiet night at home - had discussed going to see a band but bf was pooped (and slightly hungover!!)

Then yesterday was a morning of pottering around (even did some weeding out the front!) before a friend popped over for a cuppa. Had a really good chat and a laugh! Then me and bf went to see his mum before going for a carvery. Then had a very chilled evening at home - I started on a new knitting project whilst bf played his computer.

And now it's Monday again and the count down to the new job continues! 8 working days left as I am off this Friday and next Monday! However, bf started his new job today! He was definitely ready to get back to normality after his 6 weeks off! He also didn't seem too worried about starting the new job as his boss is a friend.
