Well ... it doesn't. But YouTube thinks it does!

I commented on a video on YouTube and in my comment I included a link back to the Parking board here. (Not to a thread - to the main board). Some time later when I returned to YouTube I received a popup notice saying my comment had been removed for breaching Community Guidelines; the guidelines in question being those regarding Spamming and Deceptive Practices. (It was definitely the link that caused it - there was nothing contentious in the text of my comment as I reposted it without the link).

Weird, huh? 🤷‍♀️

I haven't been able to post links in youtube comments for years.

Other comments are removed for ridiculous reasons. I discovered that if bots remove a comment it takes 20 seconds, so if i want to check then I just keep refreshing until it says the comment is 21 seconds ago.

It's you that YT think are Spamming, Many people can no longer post urls, They may as well just block all urls, maybe they have, poorly.

Big tec are taking over and deciding if your allowed on websites anymore.

But I reposted the same information without the link and that wasn't contentious ... so it definitely was the link. (I've also made other comments that include a link and they've not been moderated). 🤷‍♀️

They will not like MSE as it tends to be full of a lot of truth, which is not exactly what youtube & the like are known for.
