Another alternative to any kind of pole would be an electric window opener, something like this:
    https://www.windowopeners.co.uk/
They are often available with remote control.
My Mum has something similar on her kitchen window and it does a reasonable job - the link shared is just from an internet search, not the exact type Mum has.

Why don't you stand on the toilet seat to open the window ?
The potential for broken limbs? Not the safest way to be going on in a bathroom that may be slippy due to condensation, on a smooth surface that tends to be rounded.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

At the risk of breaking the toilet or the seat? Toilets aren't really designed to be stood on...

We used to have a sharpening steel with a ring on the end.  I used to be able to loop it over the handle and pull/push.

But something like this might work https://www.medisave.co.uk/products/wooden-dressing-stick-x-12

When I had the bathroom put in I asked for the toilet to be moved over 6"
Surprisingly had to really argue for this with every plumber but once done even they agreed. Easy to open the window - but an extreme soloution maybe  :D
Can you not stand one side or the other to reach? Put a tiny folding stool? (Also useful for cutting toenails)

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

You should be able to fit a small step (the ones used for kids to reach the toilet are ideal) between the toilet base and whatever is next to it.

It's too high, I have knee issues unfortunately.
