Great result but so frustrating that its necessary, there are so many people who just accept what DWP tell them without question who are losing out."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "4

And the confirmation letter has now arrived:peteuk said:
Name and Praise (the opposite of name and shame I guess) your MP…olgadapolga said:My MP wrote to the DWP over the weekend.
Today I received a call from the UC helpline stating that the managed migration has been cancelled and Tax Credits will continue. Letter confirming this to be sent out.
One less thing to worry about.
Robert Buckland. He is, in my limited experience of MPs, one of the better ones I've encountered (politics aside).5 -
Hello what links did you send to the MP I’m in similar situation. My child is 19 will be 20 in May. My migration is due on 13 Jan. I’m starting to panic as I’m not good with completing forms and writing letters1

Thank you I was unable to find this thread until now and also only just saw the message from olgadapolga. I did get it sorted on the day or might have been day after I made the previous comment. I phoned the migration phone number on my migration letter and spoke to a really nice guy who said that I was his first 19+ query but he had received updated guidance the day before. He double checked with his supervisor that he was processing correctly and my migration was cancelled and I have received letter telling me this as well. So my tax credits will just carry on until my daughter turns 20 in May1

I'm really pleased that you managed to get your migration deferred with just a single call to the Helpline. They refused to listen to me, that's why I had to get my (brilliant) MP involved.1 -
Reading about all those people with all sorts of problems with this weird system of CTC and WTC and UC migration and so on......Although I fully respect all those people willing to help their fellow men and women Great news but I am very sure there are plenty people out there who are just not in any capacity and are surely losing out on all those claims / benefits which they surely deserve to get and yet not getting. and very often you get all those people on the UC helpline who are themselves not completely conversant with the whole system and giving out wrong answers and very often they just cut off the phone. This is UK today 2024 Thanks God we have someone like Martin who is doing his best to help and the men and women who reply to those threads. Thank you to one and all God bless and a Happy New Year to one and all.0

The government have made it known, and Martin pushes that further, at that point it somewhat rests with the claimant to check. With so many transferring from TC to UC the letters are being sent in batches due to location and not personal circumstances.

What links did you send to your MP. I've been looking online but can't find anything about those with children aged 19 shouldn't be receiving migration notices. My letter arrived last week, migration date of the 15th of August, son turns 19 end of July. Would prefer to have it cancelled and change over after he ages out of tax credits.0
