I have been waiting since 10 am for an Evri delivery
It was supposed to be 9-10am
They claim to update when the time changes but nothing...
Last time I had the misfortune to be stuck with an Evri delivery - the delivery driver mis-delivered a laptop to an unknown location and took a photo of it - left in some unknown location
I cancelled the order and assume that some unknown person benefitted by gaining a free £1500 laptop - I got a full refund........

Are you in an area of the country that's been affected by the storms?  If so, spare a thought for the poor delivery driver who is probably doing their best to battle through where they can and having to abandon deliveries where it's physically not possible to get through, or too dangerous to attempt it.

True, they are supposed to update the ETA on their handheld terminals if they're running late, but it's not always possible if they're stuck in an area with no signal.  Or sometimes they will forget to do this if they're rushing to catch up with a backlog.

Yes, someone may have received an unexpected laptop.  I would like to think most decent folk would contact the sender and let them know.  I know I would, but not everyone takes the same view.  But ultimately, you weren't out of pocket, it's for the supplier to chase up if they want to.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Evri as a company, they are rubbish (I used to work for them, and my son still does).  But it's usually not the fault of the delivery drivers themselves - sure, there are a handful who couldn't care two hoots, but the vast majority do their best in difficult conditions to keep their customers happy.

They should update their location automatically with tracking - like Amazon

They have a poor reputation and it is deserved
last Christmas - My wife ordered some clothes from Matalan and Evri dumped them over the garden wall - he didn't even knock on the door (we were in at the time)

Fair play, that is unacceptable, you must have got one of the rather less-conscientious drivers.  Our local driver is an absolute gem, though his replacement when he was on holiday a while back was terrible - parcels left anywhere with no attempt being made to knock or ring.

It's all completely reliant on the specific driver.
Each is a self employed individual.
Each has their own level of work ethic.
The one that covers my area - good, strong, work ethic.
A relatives area in Devon - utterly useless driver with a very poor work ethic, doesn't update his device and clearly can't read or understand the Kings English 😡😡😡😡
If that device isn't updated throughout the day the tracking etc etc is never going to be accurate and customers left completely in the dark.

Our local Evri drivers (used to call them the Hermes Ladies) are fantastic, never had an issue.

It must be dependent on area.  My parcels with a time of 10-12am have all arrived within minutes of 10.30, with unfailing cheerfulness.  Always a good addition to your day.

Our Evri lady is lovely.  She never leaves anything on the doorstep and will drop off with a neighbour of nobody home.  Always happy to receive anything via Evri but would never send anything with them because I have had nothing but problems with them

I am awaiting a small Amazon parcel from Evri. I was told it would be delivered on Thursday 5-7pm.

At 6pm on Thursday there was updated with an apology it was delayed but ‘don’t worry it will be delivered the next working day’. I was also informed there would be a further email on Friday to confirm the delivery time.

Since then - nothing. No further communication from either Evri or Amazon . The tracking hasn’t updated since Thursday.

I suspect they have lost it!
I will be contacting Amazon on Monday I guess.

    It's very dependent on area.
    Very dependent on the driver.
Anyone can be an Evri driver, they're all private, individuals/Joe Public - if they're business minded - they'll be a lot more efficient than someone that just took the job because of the 'Welcome Pack' was attractive.

We used to have a great Evri driver. He remembered everyone's safe place if they were out, would knock on the door and was happy to wait for elderly neighbours to answer, he wouldn't leave parcels on front doorsteps and chatted to everyone. I never had any issues with Evri when he worked for them. He left about a year ago and  parcels are now just left at the front door by his replacement, this is whether we're in or not and the saved safe place is ignored. I had a JD Sports parcel worth £120 lost by them (ie stolen) after it got to the local depot, the tracking stopped on the day of delivery. Thankfully JD were very good and refunded me, I ordered again paying extra for delivery with DPD this time. I've heard from others in the area that they've had JD Sports parcels stolen. I try to avoid Evri now if I can, certainly for expensive orders.
