So your room wasn't 16c, you made it sound like you couldn't heat the rooms to more than 16c.My old house didn't have a heat pump and temp refers to was the thermostat setting and why.. as the house was warmer than setting and therefore insulation was v efficient!
You set the room thermostat to 16c?
That's fine if that is what you wanted but you would be better setting it to the temperature you want.
The heating will only come on once you fall below that temperature.
Do you know what heat pump you are getting?
Do you have a plan of how to operate it?0 -

I have a 9kW Daikin Altherma 3 installed by Octopus in June this year.
Happy to help in due course.
You may even help me.
It's a bit of a learning curve.
I have fitted an OpenEnergyMonitor system to mine.
Maybe go and look at the website and the forum, lots of useful advice and data.
You can see the performance of various heat pumps around the country here
HeatpumpMonitor.org
You will see mine near the bottom (unfortunately!), I am in Ipswich.1 -
I just worked out that my heat pump cost me £0.56 today on Cosy Octopus to heat the house and hot water.
It would have cost me £1.43 (including the gas standing charge that I no longer pay) if I had stuck with my gas boiler.
I think that is pretty good.1
