I thought social tariffs were much slower than this?

This isnt aimed at the OP but I thought social tariffs were all about people being able to get online to do basic things on the web, a speed of 54/58 is going to be able to handle multiple HD streams at once, I wouldnt call it "basic".
  • £28 is actually expensive, same speeds are £20 including calls with BT for example on their social tariff

If you include cashback then I recently signed up for a 67mb/s standard broadband which is effectively £15 a month, though the Direct Debit is higher that £20 and I'll need to switch again in 18 months.

I'll be interested how your UPS works out, some only last a couple of hours and then need their batteries need replacing after about three years.
