Universal Credit calculation correction -lower payments

My wife and I receive UC. We are both gainfully self employed. My wife is subject to the minimum income floor, I am still in my 12-month start up period, so I will not have a MIF of my own applied until June 2024.
A couple of months ago, we received a journal message to the effect that a calculation correction was taking place, and that our payments might go down. Our latest statement indeed shows a reduced payment. They have taken the profit I made in that assessment period, added it to my wife's MIF, and reduced our payment. In previous months, they simply used the higher figure -which has been the MIF.
From what little info I have found, this correction is meant to be applied to couples when one is gainfully self employed, and other is in a job. Clearly, this is not our situation -so I am trying to determine if the correction has been applied to us in error. I have asked UC and was initially met with a wall of silence. Having complained, I did get a response -they simply ran through the figures and said it looked right, without answering the question. Can anyone shed any light on this please?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, this is correct. They are indeed supposed to take your wife's MIF and add your income, whether it is employed earnings or self-employed earnings.
It was just more common to have cases where one member of the couple was employed and the other self-employed, but the principle is the same.1
