Life property Trust

My husband passed away not long ago and I am the executor of his estate. Probate as been granted. He left his 50% of the house to our 2 sons who are beneficiaries and trustees. It also states I can remain in the property for the remainder of my life.  Can anyone help to explain what actions I have to do. The estate is not liable for IHT. Do I have to contact the land registry and also do I have to declare the trust to the HMRC.
Hope someone can help.

  • No it is not necessary to alter the LR entry but the trustees are responsible for registering the trust with HMRC. This has to be done within 2 years of your husbands death.
