The Stop/Start wasn't working on my Ford - although when tested the battery seemed fine.

I did a bit of goggling and discovered it had a "battery monitoring system"  module which was know to sometimes stop reporting back to the ECU and cause this type of issue. I found a simple sequence of button presses online which forced the module to reset and the problem was solved straight away.

You car may have something similar ?

What was that sequence, can you please share the link/vdo or anything? Thanks
  • I used have a Qashqai roughly the same model year, the battery went bad after 6 months ago. Called the RAC who turned up with a replacement, as it was a known problem with a batch batteries. I didn't even have to claim under warranty, the RAC did it all for me.

Later on I had a Start/Stop fault occasionally show up, turned out it was because I resting my left foot on the clutch just enough for it to be detected and it disabled the Start/Stop system as a result.
  • I have replaced the battery, and its an automatic one, so no question of resting foot on the clutch..

It was something I found mentioned on on a number of Ford owner forums and specific to particular Ford models ....I would look at some Nissan forums for similar battery reset problems & fixes.
