Hi there,
I have Nissan Qashqai 2015 1.6 diesel. I was driving a few days ago and got battery warning light on along with Red engine check light. The dashboard also showed couple of other dash lights, anti slip and anti collision.
Breakdown service arrived and diagnosed the issue with the Alternator. Managed to drive home, and took to the Garage and they diagnosed the same probelm. Got Alternator replaced. The battery is getting healthy voltage and is being charged, however, the dash lights don't seem to go away. The Garage tried to reset but they keep coming back.
Any help/guidance please!

Take it to a Nissan dealer and get them to read the fault codes.0

Sometimes a simple reset will work but in your case it hasn't.
Did the garage give you a list of the fault codes
Maybe get another check. A guy near me charges£36

Daft question, did you get the battery drop tested.
On my Vectra the Alternator was on its way out and dash looked like a Xmas tree, flashing lights everywhere.
Had killed the battery also.
Your car has bms, was it reset.
Google.

You can buy an OBD port reader online for about £10 which will allow you to view the faults and possibly reset them.0

I suspect there's a problem with something else.
The fact the stop/start, the anti slip and anti collision warning lights doesn't mean they are at fault.
Usually these will default to a warning if there is a problem with something else.
As the garage has tried to reset the engine light and it's returned, I reckon there is a problem with another system.
If the garage hasn't got Nissan compatible diagnostic equipment, they will only really be able to read the generic engines codes from the engines ECU with a generic code reader.
If the fault isn't with the engine, the EML could just a result of a problem elsewhere on another system, like chassis or other system.
You really need a proper diagnostic check with compatible equipment.0 -
Mutliple warnings like that can be down to a faulty sensor or switch. A friend had similar warning on a Range Rover, he was concerned due to potential cost, in the end it was a faulty switch on the brake pedal costing very little.
As the switch wasn't sending a signal none of the stability systems were operating.0 -
Thank you all for helpful information.
Checked the car battery this morning before starting, and it was showing only 12.25 voltage. The car starts and runs fine thought.
Most of the information on internnet regarding the stop/start failure, forward emergency breaking light point to dying battery. The Halfords battery on my car has an indicator which turns green, when the battery is fully charged. It has never gone to green since the Alternator was replaced, but I have also not driven for long. The max journey I might have done was 10-15 minutes.
Does the battery warning light linked to the Red check engine warning light? Some people also suggested doing thishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xss2UdH0TIQ

Just went to a local Garage and he checked battery and charging system and confirmed they both are fine. He suggested sometimes the car needs reprogramming when you change Alternator/Battery, which only Nissan can do. They are charging £100 for diagnosis and resetting codes.0

My Land Rover would do all sorts of crazy things if the battery wasn't working 100%, including the stop-start not working0

Hi there,
I have been having issue with my Nissan Qashqai 1.6dci 2015 diesel. Around 3 weeks back, while driving had battery light and Red EML appear, and soon after got s/s failure, forward emergency braking light and traction light. I stopped the car and called breakdown and they diagnosed the Alternator was not charging. Had to drive back home 35 miles on battery, luckily made it.
Took the car to garage, they also diagnosed the problem with Alternator and replaced it, howvever, all the dash light were still there. I checked the battery for few days and its voltage was on low side, so I replaced it with EFB096 battery, however, the dash lights still there.
Took it to Nissan Dealership today, and they couldn't specify the fault. They said it could be the IPDM/ECU, and gave me a quotation of £1,900 to replcae these.
Current fault codes:
P0380 - Glow plugs (historic)
U0111 - Communication error
C1130 - Engine signal (I think this is intake air temperature sensor, because this is historic)
C1A26 - ABS (this may be Forward Emergency Braking or Traction)
I think the main issue is U0111 - Communication error. I have seen many posts here where people had same issues, but seem to resolve this by replacing battery, but it has not worked in my case.
Help please, especially anyone with similar experience. Really frustrating!
Thanks
