It’s supposedly the case ( or soon will be ) that numbers can be ported up-to 30 days after the number is ceased , so Vonage may be able to get your number after the 11th ,but that’s not guaranteed.
Presumably you accepted a different number from the VoIP provider, what has changed to now make the existing BT number important, when you first signed up with Plusnet/Vonage you must have accepted that the ‘BT’ number would be lost .
You won’t be able to transfer broadband to PN from BT and simultaneously port the BT number to Vonage , only one ‘order’ can be in ‘flight’ at a time , it’s not really about a 10 day period, it’s that orders will interfere with each other , so only one can exist at a time .
If the PN migration order is the one is allowed to complete, by the time the portability order can progress , BT would say you are not their customer , however as I said this keeping the number available to port for 30 days may now be in place , you should expect Vonage as a VoIP provider to know for sure , if they say No , that’s pretty much the end of it .1 -

No, I was led to believe it was possible to transfer the BT number to Vonage.
I think I am going to end up losing the BT number from what you are saying, unless I scrap the Plusnet move in the cooling off period and move to Sky and would then presumably keep number?0 -
Plusnet no longer offer a phone service, so obviously if you want to retain your ‘BT’ number it has to be by using a broadband provider that also offers telephone ( Sky can do this , so can others ) , or a VoIP provider, but if you move the number to VoIP it ceases your BT broadband , causing a break in service while the broadband is re-established with another ISP .
If you want to use Sky for telephony and broadband, you need to cancel both the Vonage port of the wanted number ( if you have another Vonage number you don’t need to cancel that ) and Plusnet migration, then order with Sky , word of warning , Sky although they can port numbers , they don’t offer a 100% guarantee,( no one does ) if anything they seem to be worse that average ( judging by posts on forums such as this ) but it’s a reasonable bet they will be successful.
The alternative is to port to Vonage, and use mobile data or whatever during the break in service and order a standalone broadband from Plusnet or whoever you want , but knowing for probably a week or two you would be without any ‘landline’ type broadband….all this assumes you only have access to the Openreach network, no Virgin or Alt Nets .https://www.ofcom.org.uk/advice-for-businesses/switching/switching-landline

When signing up with a new provider you can also request to keep your old phone number for free by contacting your new provider even if you have already cancelled your previous service (as long as you request this within one month of cancelling).0
