Tumble dryer - best one

Any members of "Which?" want to paste us a copy of the tumble dryer best buys? There seems to be too many too choose from.
It says to beware of many condenser dryers (these collect the water in a container).
These are criticised for pumping out too much water into the room instead of collecting it.
"Models to avoid are:- Candy CC 217 Smart
- Creda TCR2
- Hotpoint CTD80 and CTD85 Ultima and CTD 40 Aquarius
- Indesit IS70C and ISL 70C
- White Knight CL 767, 76AW and 76AS
- Hoover HNC180"
All three John Lewis models reviewed are Best Buy: JLDV08, JLTDC01, JLTDC07.
The Siemens WT46E387GB/WT46E386GB are both Best Buy (seems to be rebadged Bosch)
All four Bosch models are Best Buys
All five AEG Electrolux models are Best Buys
The other Best Buys are
Whirlpool AWZ3303, a cheap vented model - this is the best bang for buck as it's the cheapest best buy - £170
Whirlpool HDD6700, a condenser
Zanussi-Electrolux ZDE57140W (the cheapest best buy condenser - £279)
Basically: vented tumble dryers are easy to get right, but some brands are less reliable, less energy efficient, and noiser. Condensers you have to buy a good one.0 -
Has anybody said this already-look at the site whitegoods-its a trade forum with buying advice and a forum-it is very informative.re condensors mine has an automatic sensor so you dont have to put the time in.If you can buy from empire direct (edelectrical stores) you may be able to pricematch with john lewis.0

Most of the condenser dryers I have looked at are c rated. Are the A rated ones any louder or longer? Ive been looking at Bosch B rated ones.0

We're signed up to Which? now, but we actually went to our local library before buying a dryer last November and looked at the Which ratings there. I think every library subscribes, just about.
FWIW, we ended up getting a vented model (that hangs out an open window..how classy) instead of a condenser because a couple of the articles in Which? mentioned that the vented ones use a bit less electricity. They also tended to dry clothes more quickly.
We ended up getting a no-frills Whirlpool from Sainsbury for right around £150, delivered and got a bunch of Nectar points (though not as many as I should have grr) as well.Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0
