As has been said stick it out front with a sign on (don't mention it's faulty) if that doesn't shift it take it to the tip

    Far cheaper than £30

We took a fridge to the tip recently - no charge.

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time

You could put it on Freecycle.

Our local council will collect up to 3 items for £15. You give them a weeks notice and leave it out.
Ours is £35 but its up to 10 items... seems as if it varies a fair amount by council
  • Should have said, for our £5 booking fee the council will collect up to six items from a list which includes large electrical items/white goods and wooden furniture. Removing other items like sofas and mattresses costs £12.50 per item.

thanks for all the advice. It is now on freecycle, olio, nextdoor and ebay. It is also outside waiting to be stolen.

    Hi,
as you're having a new kitchen installed there might be a skip used for old kitchen units etc, sure you could fit FF in.
and have to pay for another skip and the labour to decant  the  content that can go into the skip into the new skip

    It's gone!

Collected by someone 90 miles away and happened to be near me today. It had been out in the rain all weekend, but he was happy to collect as he needs it for spares.

He found it on Facebook marketplace. As it happened I didn't think he would show up and it would be typical nonsense from that source, but it's gone  :)

Now, anyone want a leather 2 seater sofa....

I know this is an old post but I have just been quoted £140 to take away a large fridge freezer by Bromley council and they wonder why people fly tip! My parents had 2 fridges so a total of £180 both. I could borrow a van but you get charged to take a van to the skip and they wont fit in our car. They've got you all ways!
