Has Royal Mail cut back on deliveries??

We used to get post delivered every day including Saturdays. Recently we only get it once or maybe twice a week. I know that generally people are getting less post due to everything being done online. When we get the post once or twice a week it is usually a big batch. This is letters and large letters. Parcels are delivered by the RM van at any time but missing the daily walking postie everyday.
Wondering if they have cut back on making daily deliveries? Are there any posties on this forum who could confirm?
If they are cutting back, it is going to effect the Ebay deliveries. A large letter I posted on 30th Sept only reached this morning. Another at more or less the same time has not arrived yet. I have 2 requests open at the moment. Small parcels are fine as I am using online postage and they are being collected - and they are tracked. It is the letters/large letters which are not reaching as I am using up stamps to post them. And yes, I am putting the correct postage!

Yes RM have had the last 18 months of industrial dispute ,Which they would like to wind the letter side of the business down and go to gig economy style parcel delivery . Posties are leaving on mass and also loads are being dismissed . So i would say some deliveries are only covered partly than fully all week . Delivering a USO is very costly and RM want rid .1

If it is any help our local Postie has said that they are now prioritising parcels over letters. We get letters twice a week now but parcels are definitely more frequent.

What seems to be happening is lots of delivery offices have tracked mail only days. This is occurring in our area twice or three times a week. The price difference now between tracked 48 and standard post is so small I exclusively use tracked 24/48 and have everything collected.0

In my area it is said to be down to shortage of staff. They have recently had a recruitment drive and now we seem to be getting mail 4 or 5 times a week rather than the 2 or 3 a couple of months ago.

Our postie comes out 6 days a week (our schedules coincide a lot) but it's only 1-2 days a week that he has anything for us.
Are you sure its just not a sign of the reduction in post rather than a lack of visits?1 -
My deliveries were dire over the summer particularly for letters but they have recovered now. I suspect it was insufficient staff to cover holidays. There are regular complaints in the local paper relating to the same delivery office so it does appear to be patchy.I am using RM 24 and 48 a lot more now as mentioned by steviebabes. Posting on Saturday, RM24 can be superior to Special Delivery as they sometimes deliver them on Sundays.0

I had a Tracked parcel delivered by Royal Mail today, in a small white van with the guy wearing a RM hi vis over casual clothing.0

It is so bad in Newport ,S Wales that recently I had mail not delivered for 15 days straight. Friends from Kent posted my birthday card on 5/9/23 and it came in 20/9/23 with Tesco vouchers that had partially expired due to late delivery. It’s shocking. May friend is a postman here and he has stated that bosses have told them to leave mail and concentrate on parcels only.0
