Credit cards are one of the easiest to see if you have PPI.  An entry would appear on every month that the PPI payment was made.    If there is no entry, then no PPI was paid.

I will check one of my old statements for what you said about the balance. I know I signed up for it and I recall using the letter as proof for something else. What you said about the PPI account being operated separately makes sense. There were various calculations on the statements that I could’nt make sense of at the time. Thank you very much for your advice, I will take on board everything you’ve said.
