Just wondering how things were going?

Also, one thing you may find helpful to know is that the organisations working with homeless people may have priorities and protocols which mean there's more help in the early days than there may be later. There was some research done which indicated that if someone got off the streets within 6 weeks of being homeless, they were less likely to become a hardened rough sleeper.

So targets were set, "let's try to get every new rough sleeper into some kind of accommodation before they become entrenched - oh look Marmaduke is at 5 weeks, let's throw everything we've got at this situation. Oh, never mind Ferdinand, he's at 7 weeks, already missed our target, can't help that, he can wait" kind of thing.

I don't know if that was happening nationally, and I don't know if it's still happening in this area. It did mean that Marmaduke might be offered help which wasn't available to Ferdinand, even though it was more appropriate for F than for M.

Another thought is that if there's a Big Issue 'office' anywhere nearby, they can be really helpful and knowledgeable.
