E7 user - new smart meter installed by EDF but maybe single rate not two rate

  • Hi dealyboy - the colours seem to be EDF's decision to label usage as low (green) medium (amber/orange) high (red).

In an email, EDF stated that my E7 times are 00:30 to 07:30.  I looked through the meter's screens again today, and found the TARIFF pages which showed the prices (including VAT) of the daily standing charge (screen headed /DAY which I take to mean per day) and then on the next page a price which was headed NOW and showed the price (including VAT) of the daily rate.  There was no option to scroll to a page that would show the E7 night rate, so I assume that after the E7 period starts the NOW screen will show the lower rate.  Looks like I'll be staying up late again.

I think that's the same with my meter and IHD ... I can see the rate applicable at the current time (+ SC). I suspect that your given E7 times are GMT (I could be wrong) and so you might see a changeover at 01:30 and 08:30.

BTW strange colour scheme, that's all very low usage. On my IHD (Chameleon v3) I have what looks like a speedometer with green and red zones. I think I have to be using more than 2kW to go into the red zone.

Hopefully the MSE experts will take over soon. Have a good night  :)
