The wall on your side looks rough as it was built what is called overhand by a bricklayer standing on the other side.   To build it so that the wall was neatly pointed on both siedes would have required the bricklayer to work from both sides of the wall, which obviously would have increased labour costs and perhaps scaffolding hire costs.

Why would any experienced bricklayer do that? Surely they've set themselves up for a social media slanging? It looks like Master Brickie on one side and Day One Apprentice on the other.

OP, if you know the co. perhaps you could contact and ask why such a shoddy job on your side.

Edited:  apologies, didn't see there was a Page 2.  So Master Brickie has properly finished on one side but not the other.  But if it's single brick, I don't understand how the OPs side can look like it does?
I did wonder that as well since OPs side has a lot of half bricks which aren’t obvious on the good side, unless they’re in another section that’s not been photographed.
No consolation to OP, but the good side does look good
I would say that is the back side of the pier. Every other course has 2 brick ends going right though.

From the top it doesn’t look too bad and it’s only the first four brick layers that are terrible.  Above that it’s doesn’t look bad and is a reasonable job.

I thought the piers were every 6 foot the way you described it, it looks more like 5-6 Meters, That can not be safe. They should be every 3M or under.

Are they going to leave the top like that?
Yes, they say they are happy with how it is and will not do anything further with the top.  It’s crazy as on the other side they have a really nice rendered painted wall that they did a few years back.

Which way do the prevailing winds blow? Whose garden did the old fence get blown into? Maybe the wall is at risk of going the same way...
The wind blew the fence into my garden.  If their wall causes damage to my property or injures anyone in my household, it will not be amicable anymore.  I will be going down the legal route for damages.

How  deep are the foundations, and what's the subsoil in your area?

Since they've done such a cowboy job on the wall itself you've got to think the foundations are equally half-arsed

If you write on that wall it will likely fall down! Somewhat more seriously I would not touch that wall at all. Certainly no chance that I would follow the advice of some who have suggested you tidy up your side with mortar etc, you will be leaving yourself open to claims that you have caused the damage when it does fall down.

Does the wall move if you apply a little pressure? With a long stick of course! :)
