How to contact British Gas to raise an issue
My IHD never displays the new tariff after
I have a switch to a new tariff. It took 9 months to effect a correction via customer complaints. Now that dept seems to have been disbanded. who and how to contact to get a resolution? The basic function of an IHD is to monitor your spend. Not possible if not up to date. HELP and TIA

Email/twitter, ask for a complaints ref. Wait 8 weeks or for a deadlock letter and escalate to the ombudsman.
I say email or twitter so their is a record of the interaction and not a phone call.0 -
Go to online chat and just keep writing in "complaint". That has occasional got me through to someone who isn't incompetent. Facebook messenger has worked in the past also.0

They have you on a smart meter. Some people's have never worked they don't care.

Set the IHD to show kWh and invest in a cheap calculator.
If you have smartphone, install the BRIGHT app.1 -
Make a paper trail, wait 8 weeks, take to ombudsman, bank the compensation £££0

The IHD will only show accurate cost information if the supplier has updated the tariff information in each of the meters. Sadly, not all suppliers update the cost information if a timely way.bryanb said:Read the instructions and reset the IHD yourself. BG will not be interested1
