Yes it’s legit but it’s app only (if that bothers you).

Pretty sure you can manage via browser too, but it's literally just the app in a browser window(ie same design, doesn't resize to fix a desktop/laptop screen).

Can't manage it via Branch or post or anything though. You either have to apply for the account via Nottingham BS for branch/post management only or beehive for browser/app only.

I agree, Beehive accounts can be opened and managed with a browser, too.

    Hi all,

With the withdrawal of the NS&I bond (I literally just missed it today) I was looking for an alternative but I'm a bit loathe to transfer tens of thousands to a unknown but Beehive seem legit - part of Nottingham Building Society.

Has anyone got any experience with them? Any problems or concerns?

    Many thanks.

From NS&I website: Postal applications received for a reasonable period will be honoured.

It's worth giving it a try.

I was wondering about this, googling for the postal application form led me to https://www.nsandi-adviser.com/sites/nsandi-adviser/files/asset/forms/guaranteed-income-bonds-application-form.pdf which looks like the right thing, but since it's just from a google search I'm not sure.

Oh, sorry one more thing I see this message in the fixed bond account (with £0 in at the moment)

"Quick! Funding closes for this account soon."

Is that because I have a deadline to put in funding or are they withdrawing it soon do you think?
It's because they are near to the point of achieving their objectives with this product and will be withdrawing it soon, nice of them to give such warnings.  If I wanted to fund this product I would transfer funds now or tomorrow.  Beehive tend to credit at weekends so cash drag is unlikely.

Thanks I was wondering if that might be it. I just wanted to transfer a smaller amount first being ultra paranoid I'd not gotten the right account number etc ;) Away we go!

I do the same, smallest amount first if t&c allows and when I see the money arrived I transfer the rest. It's unlikely they will close the shop at weekend so doing it in two stages should be ok.  Or it might stay open for longer, who knows?

Bear in mind they have a minimum and if your first payment is less than that it bounces back

Cheers yeh it was £500 first time around and it also had to be from a linked account (nominated during the setup).  Have to say, brilliant help all around from all of you, thank you again.

    From the NS&I announcement:

"Postal applications received for a reasonable period will be honoured."

Any idea what they might mean by that? What is a reasonable period?
Postal application they received today, Friday?
Next Monday? Next week? Two weeks?

Could not find any info but probably if it was in the post already you'd be fine. Not sure you can download the form anymore.

Just as an FYI on Beehive I've been told today by them they are withdrawing the 6.10% rate on the 11/10/23

If that is the issue 8 bond then it is showing as withdrawn already on the website
