Closing help to buy ISA for bonus

Hi folks!
Well the moment I've been dreading (but looking forward to lol) has finally arrived. My solicitor has instructed me to close my help to buy isa!
I asked the solicitor if when I go into branch to close it do I ask the bank to transfer the money to them but they said no and to have the money transferred into my bank account. I was so sure that I'd read somewhere that it's to be transferred directly to the solicitor by the help to buy ISA provider. They have mentioned about acquiring the closing letter/statement though so that fills me with confidence.
Does the bank provide me with this at the time I am there or would that be sent in the post?
I'm very nervous about it because the bonus will help me so much so any advice is most welcome

With a HTB ISA you just close it as normal and receive the money into your bank account. The bank will provide a closure statement (usually several days later) which your solicitor can use to claim the bonus directly. If you are closing in branch you can ask them what their procedure is, they might be able to do it then and there. It is only the bonus that needs to go direct to the solicitor and get used towards the property purchase.

My only other question would be what should I take into branch with me? I was thinking my latest statement to show the account details and id. Possibly ni card? I assume that would be sufficient.

Photo ID if you want to be absolutely sure. If you have a current account with the same bank, your debit card should usually suffice. Plus something with the account details like the statement as you suggest.
