Not sure without more information which question you are referring to. I remember though that there is a calculator on gov.uk that enables you to put the information in to ascertain the level of the RNRB that applies…maybe this is where you are?

    Hi poppy star, that’s where I ‘m at.Iht400 q111. Rnrb .see Gov.uk?
    simple! Inheritance tax calculation.
    q111-119.
    enter calculation from calculator.
went to the calculator online, but just threw me.
start of a long process of calculations again !,
do I have to go through that process to get a figure for q111?
I thought a straight forward answer, from many of the boxes I’ve ticked would have been the answer?
    just transfer from a- b.
I have got to the end and calculated tax owing, but that box could, probably is skewing the answer ?
as I have filled every box on IHT 400 et Al, I could only assume I had transferred first spouses rnrb to last spouse rnrb, that’s why   I put £350k ?
any help would be appreciated and then I can put it to bed for a while.

Without the form in front of me I still don’t know what the question/problem is but some people won’t be entitled to the whole of the RNRB so that has to be calculated - this could be where you are at?
  • Hi poppy, thanks for reply, it’s £350000.
    Used the calculator.
it reminds me of chan canasta, (c 1950,) think of a number, double it, takeaway the first number, etc, end up at the beginning!
    showing my age.!
    what a palaver🤬
see how long before I pester you all again.👍
