Yikes yes ihd.not had enough coffee today .sorry 🫣
You might want to actually check what you are being charged on your account - the rates quoted on the in home display are for information purposes only (not billing) and can be incorrect.

Rate is 16.99 night 36.50 day on my account.yesterday morning 16.99 0n display but didn’t check today.rate at 8.15 am 36.50 so correct day rate but should hv been 16.99 at that time until 9.03.obviously they’ve done massive update due to general price cap change but never had the issue on previous 3 monthly updates.have just been online and updated my account to do half hourly readings their end so if it does become an issue they will have the data.il take photos of display when checking the times but hoping it will sort itself out .🤞🤞

E7 times don't usually extend after 08.30 BST although they can drift.
My E7 time changes to day rate at 9.30 am just now which is very convenient.

I get the distinct impression they don’t know what they are doing lol.what area are you in .have you turned a storage heater on for a minute(I had red switches on all mine so I know when they come on and go off.)though to see if it still goes off earlier and check ur display for rate is on.that was my clue this morning when I didn’t see the countdown on the display.

Just a query and heads up to anyone else on edf e7.live in East Midlands area and e7 time summer is 2 to 9 then winter 1am to 8 am.
According to https://selectra.co.uk/energy/guides/tariffs/economy7 the "standard" East Midlnds timings are 0030-0730 GMT, which would be 0130-0830 BST.
As others have said, your E7 times are controlled by your smart meter and follow settings sent to it by your supplier. It's possible that, together with the updated October tariff, EDF have sent new timings to your meter.

If new timings have been sent then surely the storage heater would turn off at that time and not an hour later.il give them a call I think next week .many thanks🙂

Is it a traditional storage heater, or a newer Lot 20 one? Newer ones have a built-in peak-rate heater intended for use when you run out of stored heat. Could it be this that turned on?

Thankyou.no just a normal 6 year old creda one.today is first hint of not being right after the oct update .hopeful that  I hear the main meter changing over and storage heater going off at that time and don’t want to jinx anything as time change end of October.it’s just the display suddenly kicking in with the change an hour earlier than normal.some people have commented they aren’t that accurate and it’s the meter that’s important for billing .would be interesting to know if anyone else is having this problem in East Midlands.hv a relative in Nottingham so he’s going to check his tmrw.i don’t like technology lol.

Today Display showed bars for 1 hour change from day to night reading but ihd came on at 1.30 but actual meter outside switched at 2.checked this by putting storage heater on and off.then interestingly enough no bars which always showed normally 8 to 9 but checking ihd that went from night to day price at 8.30 but again meter outside switched off e7 unit at 9.03 so looks like it’s still updating after sending signals out on 1 st October.read a lot last night as I was wide awake lol and Ovo customers have been having exact same problem for months with not aligning and still not sorted .so will wait until I have to put storage heaters on and if not aligning will ask them to try their end or send someone out.time will tell 🙂
