merry christmas to all of you, and a happy os new year!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
Once again, many thanks to everybody on the site and this board in particular!
I've always 'been careful with money' - or so I thought! But have learned so much more since being on here. Love to read other people's ideas, tips and recipes.
My resolution for next year is to start to forward plan for next christmas properly - instead of leaving it until Sept/Oct and then panicking and also to sort out my garden to produce some vegetables/herbs for us.
Hope all you OSers - and Martin - have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous 20080 -
Hello everyone and Happy Christmas!
Just want to echo all the other comments, since discovering this forum have learnt so much! We are on a very tight budget, and was beginning to feel I was the only one, most of my friends/workmates seemed to be better off and I was getting a bit discouraged. But now I feel so much better, there are many, many of us trying to get by on not very much and I am proud to be one of them!!
Now I see saving money as a challenge, and appreciate what I do have ie health, a roof over my head, a happy (most of the time!) family and enough to eat. Will carry on OS'ing in 2008 and hope it's a good year for all of us!0 -
I also want to thank everyone for making this forum so friendly and encouraging. Thanks for all the tips, laughs, recipes and ideas.
This is the first Christmas in a long time I haven't been overstressed wondering if we will have enough money to buy all the Christmas presents and food we need. All the presents were bought in time and we have extra money to take our girls to the cinema or do other family things without worrying if the money will last until January...
I have also learned so much from you all and long may we continue!!
Have a lovely Christmas and a great money saving New Year!!0 -
Thank you all for the advice and Ideas I have found on this thread. I cannot thank you enough :T

I have now actually cooked a meal from scratch (huge achievement for me!) and my house is now resembling some sort of normalitiy thanks to Flylady. So from everyone in the Penguin household :

Merry Christmas to all the Old Stylers! :rudolf:
I'm more of a lurker than a poster on here but do find this such a friendly and informative board! I'll probably be on here even more in the New Year as maternity pay (or lack of it!) really kicks in next year!
Hope you all have a fantastic Christmas! :santa2:0
