I have a kitchen to sell. Builders start work on 9 October so not much time. What is the best way of doing this?

Local Facebook group , locally to me they seem to get a lot of interest . That way you control the narrative, can put your own conditions on the sale about removing it and time frames etc .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Based on the number of sellers who don't reply locally I assume they go pretty quickly on Facebook marketplace.0

I'd suggest pricing it cheap if you want it to go. I've seen dreamers list used kitchens 1 week before they need it gone for insane prices, and then when theres no interest they drop the price to something more realistic at the last minute, then they have to remove and store the kitchen themselves and it gets in the way for a week, and then eventually it will either get given away, go in the skip or get taken1

thara1996 said:Heya. This is my own advice. OP you have a few different options in order to try. Firstly see if any of the local charity shops will happily take your old furnishings or not. Failing that set up a table at a car boot sale in addition to sell unwanted items on the cheap. Good luck. Ring your neighbours to find out if they want anything free of cost or not as well. It is always worth a shot.Alternatively use Etsy or Craigslist. Bigger items are fragile. If selling online, remember to have two or three clear photos and a accurate item description too. I recommend selling heavy items online only. You can transport fragile things like bedroom lamps in a cardboard box or similar. Set a realistic selling price and then stick to it. Be patient. You are much more likely to get positive results that way. Seriously. Try it and see what happens.Never rush it in other words. I’ve sold a lot of stuff online before however I prefer to donate or sell things offline.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Some questions about Thara's advice.
I want to know why they have a bedroom lamp in the kitchen?
Bigger items are fragile so only sell them online?
Stick to your selling price whilst giving it away for free?
OP needs to sell the kitchen fairly quickly but they should not rush?
I AM SO CONFUSED.. HELP ME....
Silvercar, how are you going with selling it anyway. Fingers crossed but you may strike lucky at this time of year
somone may want a cheap kitchen and get it in before xmas. But its a bit hit and miss depending on the location.
Mate bought one and the seller said they had a lot of calls about it where others were listed for quite a while.

Good Luck.
I put it on facebook marketplace. I've had 11 scamming attempts, 4 people who claimed to be interested but then disappeared, 3 people from abroad claiming they are definitely collecting it. One guy is definitely picking it up on Sunday with cash but hasn't even asked for the address!
Two people potentially interested in the range cooker (£60- I should have asked for more!) but can't pick up til the end of next week and it needs to be out by Monday at the latest.
Two people who may want the island only, 3 people who claim to be genuinely interested by won't commit.
Shaker style oak doors with mdf carcases, you would have thought it isn't that dated.
Just outside London, near M1, M25, A1, so we are well located.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. Sorry to hear about your issues.
When we had some decent furniture to give away, there was one chap who seemed to be a fantasist. He asked loads of detailed questions, and made detailed arrangements to pick it up, but never showed.
When we had something else to give away, exactly the same chap surfaced, with the same modus operandi.
In short, you need to have a plan B, eg a garage to store the stuff, or someone whom you pay to take it away.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
