Leaving O2
Hi guys,
has anyone left O2 recently? My contract ends with them on 6th October, but i’ve just read that i’ve to give them 30 days notice to leave. That’s nonsense to me, as my contract clearly finished on 6th October and so certainly dont want to pay them until 6th November!!
Of course they dont answer the phone, but i’ve already started service with Three and my O2 number is due to port over on the 6th.
Do I have to speak to O2 (difficult) or will the number port take care of things? And I assume I can walk away on the 6th and settle any balance up to then, having to pay for 30 further days would be nonsense to me.

Your fixed term ends on the 6th. It then becomes a rolling contract. (read the T/C) So you do have to give 30 days notice.
I'm sure you would be more upset if on the 6th that they simply cut the phone off & you lost all use & number.
202 off you mobile gets you straight to 02, or simply visit a store.Life in the slow lane1 -

If you pac your number to another provider your contract with o2 will end on the day of transfer and you will only be charged pro rata for the part month.
Your contract does not end on 6th October, it is your minimum term which ends.
Text the word pac to 65075 to obtain a pac without needing to talk to anyone. If you give it to a new provider before 6th Oct you will be charged an exit penalty.2
